Spirit Week 2011
Hello Patriot Supporters!
It's the back-to-school time of year again and, more importantly, Spirit Week is just around the corner. It's hard to believe that it is actually here! Student council has been diligently working on the 2011 Spirit Week calendar to ensure that this year's Spirit Week is the best one to date. We have chosen Arizona's Children's Charities and the Mac Foundation as the recipients of the monies raised this year. Arizona's Children's Charities donates to the Pendleton Place and the Phillis Wheatley Center. The Mac Foundation funnels out their money, as well, to the Pendleton Place, CESA Boys and Girls Program, and Greenville Family Partnership. (Arizona's Children's Charities and the Mac Foundation work hand in hand in supporting children in our community). We chose these charities to honor the memory of Mac Allen, a good friend to many at J.L. Mann, who passed away 5 years ago this September. He would be graduating this year with the class of 2012, so we felt that these were the obvious choices for the Spirit Week recipients. I am SO excited to be able to raise for such a passionate cause this year. We, as a community, have the opportunity to do something great: raise money for needy children's charities in the upstate. So, I encourage you to get involved in events throughout the week, (because face it- there is at least one that you will enjoy). I challenge you to join us on the unforgettable journey we will take from September 2nd to the 9th. And, most of all, I look forward to making a positive impact on those who are with us and celebrating the memory of those who are not. Thank you all so much for your support- it does not go without appreciation. I hope you all are just as excited to raise for this cause as student council is!
